Quiz Games

Quiz games usually ask whether you know the answer. The one on this page asks whether you know people. Noillirk gives you ten questions a day, thirty seconds for each, and scores you on how close your answer lands to what a hundred other people said.

It is the only quiz title here so far. The rest of the page covers what the scoring rewards and what a thirty-second clock does to the way you answer.

Quiz Games That Score the Crowd, Not the Answer

Each question is worth up to 100 points, but the points depend on where your answer lands in the crowd's top ten: 100 for the most common answer, 75 for second or third, 50 for fourth or fifth, 25 for sixth to tenth, and 10 for anything off the board. A perfect daily run scores 2,500, which empties the room of 100 people one at a time, 25 points per person.

That scoring inverts the usual quiz instinct. The clever answer is worth 10 points and the boring one is worth 100. If you have played a survey game before, you already know the adjustment, and the first round is usually where you unlearn being interesting.

What Thirty Seconds Does to a Quiz Game

Questions 1 and 2 score at face value, questions 3 to 5 double, 6 to 8 triple, and 9 and 10 quadruple. The clock stays at thirty seconds throughout, so the last two questions are worth four times as much with no extra time to think.

The pressure is therefore back-loaded. A slow start costs little and a slow finish costs the run. The answer rules forgive case, accents and punctuation, and answers of five characters or more tolerate one slip, which removes the typo excuse and leaves the choice of answer as the thing being tested.

Quiz Games Without an Account

There is no sign-up, no paywall and no login. Progress, streaks, the nickname and the sound settings sit in the browser's local storage, so a cleared cache or a different device starts you over.

Unlimited mode draws from the same 200-question bank at 10, 20 or full length, and a challenge link lets someone else play the same questions in the same order. The daily is the part that counts for a streak, and it is also the only part that has to be played on the day.
