Sports Games
Sports games usually hand you a body and a ball. The one on this page hands you a sheet and a clock. 2 Minute Drill is a football play-calling game: you read a defense, pick from four call families, and find out what the call was worth before the next down arrives.
There is one title in this category so far, which keeps the page honest. What follows is what the game asks of you and where a browser sports game usually falls short.

Sports Games Without a Controller
Everything runs on a mouse, a finger or the number keys. The four families are numbered, the receivers are numbered, and the snap button carries its own number, so a whole drive can be played from the keyboard. Space skips the kickoff animation and nothing else.
That last detail separates a sports game that respects a lunch break from one that does not. A play-calling game has no reason to make you watch a kickoff, and this one lets you skip it without giving up the snap.
What 740 Fixed Situations Do to a Sports Game
Every situation is fixed before you call anything: score, quarter, down, distance, field position, clock. The rules page says the library holds 740 situations; the build's own data file lists 744. Four situations apart is bookkeeping rather than a different game, but it does show that the library is a data set and not a set of hand-built puzzles.
Fixed situations are also why the game can grade a decision. If the down and distance were random, a sound call could still look bad. Because they are not, the result card can tell you the call was as good as any even when the pass fell incomplete.
Sports Games You Can Finish in Ten Minutes
Daily is one situation a day. Survivor chains drives into a streak, Versus is head to head, and Pro is a one-time 4.99 dollars for past dailies and historical situations. The mode you choose changes the length of a session more than it changes the rules.
For a browser sports game the daily is the honest entry point. It costs one decision, it does not ask you to learn the whole library first, and it tells you quickly whether the four call families are something you want to keep reading.
